READ YOUR CHILDREN STORIES ABOUT MICE
My intention here, is to use ‘bearfat’ as an artistic outlet in a time and place where creativity takes a back seat to the meaningless hussle of the daily grind - To me and the small community of artists, writers, and musicians that I surround myself with, without an artistic vent we are all just like the mass, moving where our lives take us instead of moving our lives in the direction we want them to go. Even though I have stumbled across certain responsibilities that have required me to alter my opinion on the matter of employment, I still find myself, at times, wishing that I had an excuse to join my job-less friends and fellow musicians / artists in the trenches of this calamitous economy, first of all to explore myself and my resourcefulness in the depths of a poor existence, and second, to do nothing but create and collect- create music, write down whatever comes to mind, take photographs, paint, etc. - and collect ideas, experiences and inspiring moments that seem to go by unnoticed.
If you give a damn about these things, or the future of your children’s outlook on life and what makes it so stinking beautiful, buy the children’s book ‘Frederick’ by Leo Lionni, and read it to them until they understand how important these little joys are.
