This is one of many works that BEAR FAT is thoroughly excited to display in the near future, by another artist from the wonderful mitten shaped state of Michigan - Mary Hiskes. (The following is a short bio of Mary sent to me by some hipster from Grand Rapids- I believe it to be fairly accurate) Mary lives in Grand Rapids and will receive her bachelors degree in studio art in May from Calvin College.  She has had work in several shows at Calvin and throughout the Grand Rapids community, and will have work displayed in the upcoming months at Calvin’s B.A show.  Mary is interested in the role art can play in community, specifically the Grand Rapids community.  Her work at Cook Arts Center aids in giving children in the area a means to express themselves artistically through a wide variety of mediums. *Hopefully sooner than later, I will get a better grasp on how to get the size of these pictures just right, to ensure your viewing pleasure - until then, please be patient and make sure to keep checking back for Mary’s work.
